Intimate backyard Ceremony
Unbox Real Bride Shannon Carroll married her husband at an intimate ceremony in her parents backyard. To get ready for the big day she wore an I Do Wedding Day Robe made from her mother’s wedding dress.
Mom’s Wedding Dress Transformed
In June 2020 Shannon Carroll and Jim Ronca said “I do!” in Shannon’s parents backyard in front of an intimate crowd of 15. Due to being in the height of the pandemic, their reception and vow renewal followed exactly a year later in June of 2021 where they celebrated with a much larger crowd.
The couple held their reception at Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill, NJ. They chose to incorporate slate blue, ivory, and blush to compliment the beautiful greenery of the golf course and amazing tree-lined driveway.
Shannon’s mother, Jina, had her wedding dress transformed into an I Do Wedding Day Robe and a Ring Bearer Pillow by Unbox the Dress for the big day. The robe was simple and elegant with sheer sleeves and a pearl trim on the sleeves and hemline. Jina was so excited when the robe arrived at her house that she could not wait for Shannon’s bridal shower to give it to her. She took the train 25 minutes to Shannon’s apartment and surprised her with it only hours after it arrived.
Jina worked with Unbox the Dress to create a ring bearer pillow that the couple's nephew carried down the aisle. Angel ornaments were also created from Jina’s dress but were not used in the wedding.
Bride Shannon said, “I could not imagine anything better to be my “something old” on my wedding day. I was lucky enough to wear the robe for both our 2020 and 2021 weddings which made it even more special. My parents have been married 31 years, and it meant so much to include something from their wedding day.”
